Aila Aftermath

Disaster Management Minister of Bangladesh declared enough resource available to tacle the aftermath of Aila but foreign aids are most welcome.

Govt has allocated Tk. 1.23 crore and 2500 Metric tons of rice for cyclone victims but people still wating to receive the relief.Bangladesh military and paramilitary forces are trying to reach the affected area to rescue the victims but it is very hard to reach there due the flooded water that covered most of the ground surface, roads, high ways and damaged bridges that has led collapsing the entire communication systems. As a result of that peoples are marooned and asking help for shelters, food, purified drining water, medicine, cloths and emergency medical care. Water borne diseases are spreading so quickly. To stop spreading the waterborne diseases first aid medicine and emergency medical team must reach immediately to the affected area for saving many life or to prevent the detoriation. Some of the victimes are very shocked and speechless by loosing their immediate family members.

Cyclone Aila

From the Desk of GIFFB/ROBOGW:

As you already know that the cyclone Aila slammed into Kolkata, WestBangal and different parts of Bangladesh, Khulna , Bagerhat, shatkhira, Mongla, Jessore, Barishal ,Barguna, Pirojpur, Bhula, Chittagong ( Cox` bazaar), Noakhali , Laxmi pur, chandpur, farid Pur, Feni which left with 20 dead bodies ( around 20 people so far) , and 1000 were missing from coastal affected area ( source NTVCha/nnel I/Daily Star/Ittefaque/New Age) . Before it starts the authority of Bangladesh evacuated around over 100000 peoples and put them in the cyclone shelters. Once the cyclone storm hits, the brackish tidal water surged up to 6-13 fits and over flawed the levees of coastal area that resulted over flooding of water in the low land of coastal areas. Most of the affected areas are underneath of the water which washed off many domestic animals, trees, foodcrops that stand on the farmlands and damages many houses, buildings, roads high ways, poultry, fisheries. As reported that Govt. of Bangladesh has sent medical team and relief aid/Naval staffs to rescue the victims as well as to help the cyclone victims. The aftermath of this cyclone will bring many worse measures like diarrhea/cholera/dysentery and many other waterborne diseases that could lead the disruption of the social and business life. On behalf of GIFFB (Global Initiatives for Flood Free Bangladesh http://giffb.blogspot.com) and ROBOGW (Role of Bangladesh on Global Warming http://robogw.blogspot.com) we are urging Bangladesh Govt. to reinstate the regular and normal life by taking prompt initiative providing emergency funds to the local authorities to build the infrastructure. Otherwise it will slowdown the economic growth and other progressive activities around the affected area that may have significant impact on the overall growth of Bangladesh. We also asking Bangladeshi private sectors, NGOs and other individuals to stand by the cyclone affected people and help them to over come this problem. Right now the cyclone victim’s people desperately need moral support, shelter, pure food, drinking water and clothes. Especially medial care is very important to stop spreading water borne diseases among people specially the kids in the affected area.
Please come forward and help them by any means!
Now a days global warming is the most critical issue all over the world and every nation should be very sincere and responsible to play their role to prevent the global warming. Every nation has to come forward with positive attitude to eliminate this problem or cut down it`s affect. My intent of this topic " Role of Bangladesh on global warming" is to raise the awareness among people of Bangladesh to stand up to fight against global warming to save it`s people and the land from catastrophic affect of global warming. The Bangladesh people should think and act now on this issue for their survival from natural disaster like floods, droughts and cyclone that causes by global warming.
